OSP is a reading orchestra. We play a different work each week with either our principal conductor, Jack Moore, or one of our many guest conductors.

During the school year we rehearse in Room M2-8 of the Mint Building on the Community College of Philadelphia Campus.
The CCP Mint Building is located between 16th and 17th Streets on the South side of Spring Garden Street. Parking is available on the streets immediately surrounding the school. Look especially on 17th Street next to the building or Spring Garden Street in front of the main entrance. (Click here for a map of the area)

During the summer months we rehearse at West Catholic High School, located at 46th and Chestnut Streets. There is a large parking lot on the school premises. Click here for a map of the area.

The Orchestra Society of Philadelphia was founded in 1964 by Morris Goldman and Sidney Rothstein with the vision of providing an opportunity for experienced musicians to enjoy the wide variety of orchestral music available. More than forty years later the Orchestra Society maintains a loyal following and has garnered the respect of musicians in the Philadelphia area and beyond. Check our archives for more information about past programs and performers.

Orchestra Society's members include professional musicians, teachers, and people with many different "day jobs" as well as students from local universities and even talented high school students. What brings us all together is a love of playing symphonic orchestral music.
